Recognition of Eagle View Elementary Custodian, Anita Rasmussen:  Kind words and much praise was given by Vice Principal Kathy Farnsworth to Anita Rasmussen, Custodian at Eagle View Elementary, for all that she does for the students, staff, and patrons of the school. 

 

Recognition of Lapoint Reading Tutors:  Principal Dennis Atkin, publicly recognized and thanked the reading tutors employed at Lapoint Elementary.  They have helped the student body increase reading scores, as well as increase performance in other academic areas. 

 

Request for Assistant Tennis Coaches:  Tabled.

 

Approval of Sidewalk & Fencing by Maeser Elementary:  A motion was made by Shane Frost to approve the recommendation to award the concrete bid to Clarks Custom Concrete in the amount of $8,440, and award the fencing bid to Western Fence in the amount of $5,397 for the sidewalk and fencing of a walkway from a neighboring subdivision onto Maeser Elementary school grounds. Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of CM/GC for Eagle View Elementary K-8 Project:  A motion was made by Shane Frost to approve the recommendation to approve Westland Construction as the CM/GC for the Eagle View Elementary building project.  Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of Additional Funds for Vernal Middle School Roof Repair:  A motion was made by Scott Ruppe to approve $13,175 from capital outlay discretionary funds to complete the roof repair of Vernal Middle School.  Shane Frost seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of Additional Staffing & Supply Funds Due to District Growth:  A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan, seconded by Scott Ruppe, carrying unanimously, to approve increased School Supply funds to Discovery, Naples, Home School, Vernal Jr. High, Uintah High School, and Ashley Valley Education Center.  The following additional staff requests were also approved:

Discovery – 1.0

Naples – 4.0

Vernal Jr. High – 1.0

Uintah High School – 1.0
